One of the things I love most about where I live is the access to the Bruce Trail. I make it a point to get out into the forest and connect with nature as often as I can. If you’re someone who enjoys hiking, you probably know the drill—eyes down, making sure you don’t trip over a root or a rock, focused on your next step.
Earlier this week, I was out hiking with my dog Scout, doing exactly that—watching the ground as I walked. But I kept hearing this little voice in my head say, “look up.”
So, I paused, and I did.
I looked up.
And in that moment, I was reminded of how easy it is to get so focused on the path in front of us that we forget to see the beauty surrounding us.
It made me think about life.
How often are we so caught up in what’s right in front of us that we miss out on something amazing?
What could you be missing out on?

It also got me thinking about the song “Look Up” by Joy Oladokun which I have on many of my yoga playlists. Click here to listen.
