The day will include yoga, meditation, breathwork, journaling & teachings where we’ll explore what habits may be leaving you undernourished & how to shift & cultivate a more nurturing life.

 

By taking the time to nourish ourselves, we can improve our well-being & live a happier healthier & more abundant authentic life.

 

All levels of yoga are welcome. Please note that the focus on this retreat is to nourish the body and therefore the yoga movement will be more on the restorative and gentle side, so if this type of movement does not work for you then maybe check out my other day retreat - Come Home to Yourself

Hi, I'm Mel

Holistic Nutritionist, Yoga Teacher & Mindfulness Coach

For many years, I shape shifted, and lived behind a mask. I allowed the “should” and “supposed to” and comparisons dictate my life and I became totally disconnected from myself. 

I was a perfectionist, people pleaser and busy mum, I hid the imperfect side of my life. The burn out, the negative self talk, lack of self worth and love I had for myself, that is until I couldn’t hide anymore. 

 

In 2017 I began to have debilitating panic attacks and was diagnosed with depression, osteoarthritis and an autoimmune thyroid condition. I hadn’t been listening to my body so it literally forced me to stop. 

 

That was my wake up call, I knew I needed to take a serious look at my life and wellbeing and make some changes so I could live an authentic, full and happy life.

 

I began to see that although I love food, we haven’t always had the best relationship. Decades of disordered eating included deprivation, binging, hiding food and counting calories. I used food and exercise as a way of controlling my life and so I committed to repairing the relationship I had with food and my body and began nourishing myself using intuitive eating.

 

It also became clear that I wasn’t supporting my mind and my soul. I had everything that I ever wanted but I still felt empty and numb. I had forgotten who I was, what I enjoyed and what filled me up.

 

I began to practice yoga and meditation. I put myself at the top of my list and started taking time for myself every day to discover what nourished my soul.  Walking in nature, resting, listening to music or podcasts, taking a candlelit bath. These are just a few of the things I began to integrate and slowly my energy increased, I felt motivated, inspired and excited again. 

 

Once I was diagnosed with depression, I began taking antidepressants which helped a lot but I knew that this alone was not enough so I took a deep dive into my head and my heart. I started to peel back the layers that have been dimming my light, one by one. I unpacked all the negative and limiting beliefs I had been telling myself for decades and I started to get clear on what I wanted and needed.

 

The brain fog lifted, I had the courage to open up to friends and loved ones and ask for what I needed. I set boundaries, started speaking to myself with compassion and kindness and most of all I started to believe. To believe I am worthy enough to be loved, to believe I am enough, to believe that I am magical and powerful.

I found my way back home to myself, my true authentic self and now it’s my passion to help you remember who you are and get connected back to that beautiful body, mind and soul of yours.
